Do not consume anything that is contaminated with the water and get rid of such spoiled food to stay away from food poisoning. Any broken piece of utensil, smashed jug, cracked glass and fragmented plates should be disposed.

All the electrical and electronic appliances should not be put to use until you get it checked with an authorized technician. There are chances that the equipments might have damaged by water entry and so it is unsafe to use them straight away. While the restoration process is in full swing, be vigilant and check out for any signs of electrical wire damage as it would end up in fire damage adding to the already existing problems. Do not operate any of the electrical gadgets with wet hands and ensure that the floor and carpet is perfectly dry and not damp.

Drying and removing the moisture from the interiors is a headache. You should never use a blower or any tool operated by heating mechanism to dry the interior after the water damage. This is because by doing so, more mildew gets attracted and this increases the moisture level making the condition worse. Forget using heaters for drying after water damage.

By the time you restore the house after water damage, you will be enlightened by the fact that nothing really belongs to you in this world and some day or the other you have to leave the things that mattered to you the most and go ahead with life.
