The gems are the precious stones formed with beautiful colors, designs, and sparkling shades that attracts to every human being. The gems give the signs of allurement and treasury to the people. Finding the gemstones has not been an easy task throughout the history. Millions of the people have left their homes and native towns to find of the gems. People wander all around the world and find the gemstones. In this regard, many myths and rumors are demonstrated by the researchers regarding the discovery of gemstones. Many people who were poor earlier became rich by finding the gems from different parts of the world, such as Australia, Myanmar, Unites States, United Kingdom, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Mexico and Zimbabwe, etc.

The world’s biggest gem was found in space near by the core of a dead star. It is estimated that was 2,500 miles wide and weighs 5 millions trillion trillion pounds. The distance of this biggest diamond was predicted as 50 light years from the earth.

The evidence on globe is come into front by a stone discovered by a mining company in August 2007 in the North West province of South Africa. Earlier, the Cullinan, which was originated nearby Pretoria in 1905, was the biggest engraved rhombus in the world at 530.20 carats until it broke the records in 1985 to the Golden Jubilee. This was discovered in the similar mine as the Cullinan and weighed 545.67 carats. The most recent records are still to be confirmed. It is believed that these discoveries of gemstones would break the all time records. There are many conspiracies and rumors regarding the world’s largest ruby. One of the most prominent gems is the Rajarantna Ruby which is 2,475 carats and it was exposed to the world at the end of 1986.

Its owner, Mr. G. Vidyaraj of Bangalore, India, inherited the gemstone from his ancestors, the kings of the Empire of Vijayanagar. By that time, the 125West Ruby which is qualified by the Gemology Institute of America and weighs 8.2 pounds or 18,696 carats has alleged the honor and it is believed that they will be able to discover one more stone from Myanmar which would be testified by21, 50 carats. Furthermore, there is the Chaiyo Ruby which is about 109,000 carats. But, the discovery of Chaiyo Ruby was veiled in secrecy and it got a large amount of criticism. The blames and scandals were exposed to the world that Chaiyo Ruby was a bogus and multihued gem which was created oddly by the Burmese.

A number of people asserted that the largest uncut emerald was discovered in Carnaiba, Brazil in 1974. It was a remarkable 86,136 carat likely beryl precious stone and was valued at $1,120,080 USD. But it was alleged during the period of 2005 that miners in Madagascar discovered a gem weighing 1,182 pounds that had also been illustrious as the world’s largest emerald.

The world’s biggest pearl was discovered by a Filipino nearby the island of Palawan in 1934. It was declared as the first Pearl of Allah. However it was again officially called as the Pearl of Lao Tzu. It was 9.5 by 5.5 inches, weighs 14 pounds and had an expected value of $40 million USD.

In brief, we can say that there are many findings regarding the historic gemstones. Many inquiries and rumors were exposed during the discoveries of gems. But it is ultimately believed that Pearl of Lao has been discovered as the biggest gems of the world.
