Alexander Michael Gittens as an athlete was very dedicated and determined. He was into basketball, baseball, and soccer. He was always given the role of leader in any endeavor they were wont in doing. They called him coach, motivational speaker, and he acted as peer tutor for freshmen math while in high school. All the things he had to do.

Along with his leadership qualities, he was given awards in recognition of his academic excellence. Alexander Michael Gittens was awarded the Leadership Award from the OSSTF. Public accolade was accorded him due to his superior achievements in his diverse fields of interest. In whatever he did, he did it superbly and with gusto.

Aside from the leadership award, he was voted to win the Mary Baldwin Award by his peers in high school for community commitment. He not only limited himself to doing well in school but he also did community service. His school and the community benefited from the efforts that he put forth

Alexander Michael Gittens will long be remembered for all his achievements and the impact they made in the school and the community. Consistent all through out, he was an exemplar of what a true leader should be. To inspire others to do something that would be beneficial to all concern and to doing it with dedication and loyalty. This is making something out of young life and sustaining it until adulthood. One should never stop on his tracks.
